Finance Offices; Refurbishment
Town Hall, London Borough of Richmond

The aim of the project was to create a 21st Century local authority office space – both functional and inspirational. Private space has been abandoned to be replaced with open plan office space defined by modular shelving units which subdivide the open plan space into smaller, friendlier departments. The basement has been upgraded to provide additional meeting and amenity space. Prospective employees described it as the best local authority office space in the UK and cited it as one of their main criteria for choosing to work for LBR over other local authorities. 11.04 pioneered the use of blue gel filters on the up-light element of the new office lighting as it was found to boost productivity, particularly after lunchtime, and had a positive effect on the spirit like summer sunlight.
