Thameside Warehouse Apartment
Clink Street, Southwark, London SE1

A 4000+ square foot duplex apartment overlooking the Thames and Tower Bridge. The clients bought a third share in a dilapidated warehouse building close to the then Bankside Powerstation (Tate Modern). They were friends of the developer and friends of Chris Roche.
The developer had his own architect produce an uninspiring solution for this fantastic space and Chris Roche was asked to review it. The review led to the original scheme being abandoned and a more dramatic and inspiring solution emerging, at the heart of which is this dramatic staircase giving access to a guest bedroom suite on one side, and the principal bedroom suite on the other side overlooking the Thames. This apartment has featured on television inumerable times including it’s use in a Simply Red video – another mutual friend.
